Law student and all round good guy Harper suspects his stepdad Vincent of causing the car crash that landed his mother in a coma. Drowning his sorrows in a seedy LA whisky bar Harper ends up drinking with Johnny Ray, a tough redneck who offers to “take care” of Vincent for a cool $20,000. Fuelled by alcohol, Harper agrees a deal.Awaking with the mother of all hangovers and hazy memories of his encounter, Harper is surprised to have Johnny Ray turn up at his door, with his beautiful but distant girlfriend Cherry in tow, ready for a road trip to Vegas to kill Vincent. In the cold light of day, Johnny Rayis more threatening and he won’t take no for an answer when Harper protests that it was the whisky talking. Realizing that his own survival depends on going along with the plan, Harper hits the road to Vegas with his unlikely companions.What follows is a tense, deftly constructed noir thriller where Harper’s story takes an unexpected detour, presenting the audience with two alternate versions of events with two very different outcomes.
