Julie Baines – Founder and Producer
Julie Baines has had an extensive career in the film industry and founded Dan Films in 1994. Since then, she has established herself as a leading figure in both British films and international multi-party co-productions.
Julie most recently produced Chris Smith’s “Detour”, which stars exciting up and coming actors Tye Sheridan, Bel Powley and Emory Cohen well as producing with acclaimed directors including Nicolas Roeg, Peter Bogdanovich, Frank Van Passel, Michael Winterbottom, Mika Kaurismaki and Deepa Mehta, she enjoys discovering and working with new talent.
Julie has a commitment to training. She regularly mentors emerging directors and producers and guest lectures on film courses in the UK, in particular at the National Film and Television School. In 2014, she won the prestigious Argonon Women in Film and Television Contribution to the Medium Award.
Jonathan Taylor – Producer
After starting his film career working for producers Norma Heyman and Richard Holmes, Jonathan went on to be part of the development team at The Film Consortium where he worked on titles such as The 51st State starring Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Winterbottom’s 24 Hour Party People, a film which saw him and the rest of the PR team ejected from a Cannes beachside restaurant for throwing stuffed pigeons at the cast as a publicity stunt…
Now a Producer at Dan Films, Jonathan works closely with Julie on a slate of projects as well as having a number of his own projects in development.
Jonathan recently co-produced Chris Smith thriller Detour, which is currently in post production.
